I wanted to make this blog to combine two of my greater passions: petrophysics and web development.

In this blog, I have made a compilement of diverse equations of different authors for the calculation of some rock physical and petrophysical properties.

This blog is kind of a calculator of petrophysical ecuations for porosity, water saturation, water resisitivity, shale volume, and estimation of hydrocarbons reserves.

You just need to introduce the values of the different variables and click on calculate and you will get the result.

This website is a new version of a previous website, and now it is responsive and adapts to mobile phone, although it perfectly works on larger screens also. The previous version only works well on large screens, so I decided to create a new one with all the equations displaying correctly.

This is the way it will work on mobiles or cellphones:

I hope you all find this blog very useful.

All the equations can be accessed easily through the following link:

This is how the filter works on the equations list:

You can still visit the previous version of this website by clicking on the following button:

IMPORTANT: I AM NOT THE AUTHOR OF ANY OF THE EQUATIONS USED IN THIS BLOG. ALL THE EQUATIONS WERE COMPILED FROM LITERATURE (E.G. ASQUITH & KRYGOWSKI, 2004), AND FROM MY CLASS NOTES OF WELL LOG INTERPRETATION AND PETROLEUM GEOLOGY DURING MY UNDERGRAD AND GRADUATE STUDIES, AND MY PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE. FOR MORE INFORMATION RELATED TO THE EQUATION, PLEASE CHECK THE LITERATURE, AND THE REFERENCES NAMED IN THIS BLOG.
